NFL Recap: Broncos Edge Hapless Jets in Defensive Affair

In a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Broncos clinched a close win over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz kicked the late decisive three-pointer to secure the ugly win.

Dominant Display Wins Game

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after giving up a two-point play in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce just 82 total net yards throughout the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard field goal with approximately five minutes remaining.

Record Struggles for Jets Offense

Despite their dismal performance, the Jets maintained the ball with a opportunity to drive for a potential winning score. However Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion instead of sending out kicker Nick Folk for a long kick.

Fields struggled throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with minus-10 passing yards, the fewest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was completely absent," the coach stated following the contest.
